Patrick J. Riazzi
Director - Investment Officer
Pat Riazzi has been offering his clients a distinctive
blend of professional investment counsel and personal
service since 1986. He carefully evaluates his clients’
investment goals before recommending an investment strategy
specifically tailored to their financial needs.
After playing Division I basketball on a scholarship
and graduating from Davidson College with a bachelor’s
degree in economics, he joined Wachovia Securities as
a Financial Advisor. He has been recognized for providing
outstanding client service with membership in the firm’s
Executive Leadership Council. He holds his general securities
registration , Investment Advisory Representative, and
insurance licenses. In addition, he is entrusted to manage
client portfolios with discretionary authority through
the firm’s Private Investment Management service.
Mr. Riazzi has been teaching financial planning courses
at Salem College since 1989. Active in his community,
he serves on the board of the Davidson College Athletic
Foundation and the advisory board of the National Telephone
Cooperative Association. He also coaches basketball for
the local YMCA. He enjoys playing tennis and running,
and he has successfully completed the Marine Corps marathon.
He and his wife, Lori, have four children.
Joseph
M. N. Rhyne
Director - Investment Officer
In the financial services industry, as in any business,
a reputation for quality service and integrity is earned
by creating satisfied, knowledgeable customers. Since
1986, Joe Rhyne has developed a keen insight into building
effective professional and personal relationships. He
understands each client's need for investment advice and
the corresponding level of service.
Before moving his financial practice to Wachovia Securities,
Mr. Rhyne was an Inventory Planner with L’eggs Products
for two years. He has been recognized by the firm for
providing outstanding client service with membership in
the Executive Leadership Council, and he is entrusted
to manage client portfolios through the Private Investment
Management program. In addition to his general securities
registration, he is licensed as an Investment Advisory
Representative.
Mr. Rhyne holds three world records for his 40-44 age
group in the 200-, 400-, and 800-meter freestyle and won
the 200-meter butterfly and 1,500-meter freestyle events
at the U.S. Masters Swimming long-course championship.
A former collegiate swimmer and YMCA swimming coach, he
earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and business
administration from North Carolina State University. Mr.
Rhyne serves on the board of the Foundation for Rural
Service, is a former member of the NTCA’s Advisory Council
Board, and remains involved with the local YMCA. He is
also an elder in his Presbyterian church and has three
children.
Wesley
R. Reed
Financial Advisor
Wes Reed is dedicated to helping his clients meet their
financial goals. He will take the time to understand your
unique investment objectives and risk tolerance, and help
you design an appropriate investment plan and portfolio
to help balance safety, growth, and income. Through clear
and frequent communication, he will strive to keep your
portfolio on target toward your investment objectives.
Mr. Reed specializes in providing comprehensive investment
and retirement planning, quality managed investments,
and retirement-plan services for both individuals and
businesses. He holds his general and managed futures securities
registrations, as well as his insurance licenses.
After earning a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University,
Mr. Reed served as co-owner of Ringmasters, Inc. and Master
Design, Inc., -- two family owned and operated retail
jewelry businesses --for four years. He became a Financial
Advisor with Wachovia Securities in 1997 and joined the
Riazzi Rhyne Investment Group of Wachovia Securities in
2000. He has taught financial planning courses at Salem
College since 2000 and is involved with and supports several
charities in his community.
An avid golfer, Mr. Reed is a past club champion of his
golf club and competes in state-level tournaments. He
also holds a private pilot's license and enjoys an annual
trip with his father to ride motorcycles off-road in the
deserts and forests of Baja, Mexico.
Mr. Reed and his wife, Elaine, were married in November
of 2004 and are members of Centenary United Methodist
Church. They live in Winston-Salem with their two Labrador
retrievers, Buddy and Dozer.
Daniel
Riazzi
Financial Advisor
Daniel Riazzi takes pride in providing his clients with
the highest level of professionalism and personal service.
He offers a disciplined approach to investing--first developing
a clear understanding of your investment objectives and
risk tolerance, then helping you create an investment
policy statement that is tailored to your individual investment
needs. A member of the Riazzi Rhyne Investment Group of
Wachovia Securities since 2001, Mr. Riazzi specializes
in serving the needs of high net worth clients.
An Investment Advisory Representative, Mr. Riazzi also
holds his general securities registration. He is a graduate
of the University of Dayton, where he earned a bachelor’s
of business administration degree. He has also attended
seminars on retirement and education planning. Mr. Riazzi
is active in the telephone industry, serving as an associate
member of the NTCA and Opastco telephone groups. He does
volunteer work at the Opastco conventions and for the
Foundation for Rural Service at NTCA functions. Active
in his community, Mr. Riazzi serves as a volunteer for
the Special Children’s School, St. Leo’s School, and the
local YMCA.
Sterling
Baker Swaim

Sterling Swaim offers his clients a distinctive blend

A member of the Riazzi Rhyne Investment Group since 2001,
Mr. Swaim is dedicated to helping his clients meet their
financial goals. He will take the time to understand each
client’s unique investment opportunities before developing
a plan that satisfies their unique financial needs. And,
through clear and frequent communication, he strives to
keep his clients’ portfolios on track toward their investment
objectives.
Before joining Wachovia Securities, Mr. Swaim was the
owner of an automotive business in Winston-Salem--a career
that allowed him to pay his own way through the University
of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he earned a bachelor’s
degree in business administration. In addition to earning
his general securities registration, Mr. Swaim is licensed
as an Investment Advisory Representative.
An avid cyclist, Mr. Swaim has competed as a top-level
amateur (on the road)--competing in Europe and winning
a State Championship. He serves as the president of Vic
Chisholm Racing, Inc., which helps amateurs and junior
cyclists achieve their goals in cycling. He was married
in 2001 to his wife, Laura.
Janet
Sidden
Senior Registered Account Administrator
Janet Sidden brings sixteen years of experience to the
Riazzi Rhyne Investment Group. After attending West Virginia
University, she entered the financial services industry
in 1985 when she joined Wachovia Securities. During her
career at the firm she has held a number of administrative
and operations positions at the Winston-Salem office and
as a result, is an integral member of the Riazzi Rhyne
team. Her attention to detail and personal attention to
clients quickly won her the respect of fellow employees,
and she has held her general securities registration
since 1988.
Mrs. Sidden believes in providing each client—whether
they are individuals or large corporations—with the personalized
attention and solution-oriented service they deserve.
She is frequently called upon to help clients understand
complex regulations and provide professional guidance
to the team of administrative support specialists. Her
range of expertise includes: entering client orders, monitoring
dividend and interest payments and cost-basis information,
communicating the group’s recommendations, resolving client
information inquiries, coordinating the team’s technology
platform, and supporting all areas of the group’s operational
needs.
Dawn
DeBruhl Boyer
Registered Account Administrator
Dawn Boyer’s attention to detail and commitment to personal
services makes her an indispensable member of the Riazzi
Rhyne Investment Group. In addition to providing administrative
support, she manages account cash requirements, retirement-plan
distributions, journal reconciliation, cost-basis information,
and daily office workflow. Her talents are vital in providing
client service to successful clients and coordinating
the group’s recommendations with clients’ accounting professionals.
Mrs. Boyer has held her general securities registration
since 1995.
Mrs. Boyer attended St. Mary’s College and graduated
from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s
degree in English. Before joining Wachovia Securities
in 1994, she worked as a senior customer service representative
at Southern National Bank for three years. She is an active
member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where she
teaches Sunday school, helps lead the women’s circle,
and serves as a board member of the child center.
Shannon
H. Lewis
Registered Account Administrator
Since 1987, Shannon Lewis has been supporting successful
Financial Advisors with leading securities firms. Her
primary responsibilities for the Riazzi Rhyne team include
managing the documentation needed for client services
including paperwork relating to retirement plans, insurance
products, investment managers, and investment planning.
In addition, she coordinates Internet communications and
Internet account access for the team’s clients.
Ms. Lewis began her career at Legg Mason, where she worked
for six years as a receptionist and wire operator. During
her tenure she obtained her general securities registration
and received a promotion to registered sales assistant.
She also worked for more than six years at PaineWebber
in a similar role, as well as the positions of branch
office administrator and branch technology liaison. She
joined the Riazzi Rhyne team in 2000.
